Orthodontic Glossary

Key terms used in orthodontic treatment — from the appliances used to move teeth and the bite issues they correct, to the retention phase that follows active treatment.

Orthodontic treatment corrects misaligned teeth and jaws to improve both appearance and function. Whether you are considering braces or clear aligners, this glossary helps you understand every term from your first consultation through the retention phase.
